Megan Smedley is a junior broadcast journalism major at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Megan has been with WMUC Sports since her freshman year. She has broadcasted volleyball, softball, and men’s lacrosse games as well as covering football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball for the news department. She recently called the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Final Four and Championship. Despite Maryland’s loss, it was still a rewarding experience.
When Megan is not working with WMUC Sports, she is part of the production crew for Maryland’s student-run Capital News Service. She also writes for articles for The Baltimore Sun’s online department.
Born just outside of Philadelphia, Megan is a die-hard Phillies fan. But because of her mom’s upbringing she is also a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants. So, yes the Super Bowl wins were extra special and she happily gloated throughout her Philadelphia suburb. Megan hopes to visit all Major League ballparks, having been to twelve already.
