Megan Smedley–Co-Station Director

Megan Smedley is a senior broadcast journalism major at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Megan has been with WMUC Sports since her freshman year. She has broadcasted volleyball, softball, and men’s lacrosse games as well as covering football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball for the news department. This past year, she was able to travel to Michigan and Nebraska covering Maryland football as well as representing WMUC Sports at the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Tournament covering the men’s basketball team.

When Megan is not working with WMUC Sports, she is a reporter for Maryland’s student-run Capital News Service for the fall. She has also edited, produced and anchored for The Left Bench and its television show. Megan has interned with NBC Washington’s sports department and will be spending her summer interning with Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.

Born just outside of Philadelphia, Megan is a die-hard Phillies fan (unfortunately). But because of her mom’s upbringing, she is also a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants. So, yes the Super Bowl wins were extra special and she happily gloated throughout her Philadelphia suburb. Megan hopes to visit all Major League ballparks, having been to twelve already.
