An Offensive Assault Lifts Maryland Past Robert Morris 13-4

By Connor Bell

Coming into Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon, the mood of the players was anything but negative. And why wouldn’t they be? The team had just beaten the second best team in the nation and had moved itself up to be the third best team in all of collegiate lacrosse. And when players are loose and just looking to play the game they love, that’s when athletes are at their best.

This was clearly shown yesterday as Maryland dominated Robert Morris 13-4 to improve their record to (7-1) on the season.

The Terps dominated the Colonials outshooting them 51-20. Colin Heacock continued his strong start to the season by tacking on three goals in addition to eight other players also scoring in the game. Goalie Kyle Bernlohr had five saves only because the defense prevented Robert Morris from getting any kind of shot attempt. The defense was so good the Colonials did not even get a goal until the final five minutes of the 3rd quarter.

With the team playing the best lacrosse it can right now things are looking good for their first Big Ten game ever this upcoming Sunday against the Michigan Wolverines. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. from Byrd Stadium in College Park, Md.
