Field Hockey’s win streak extends to nine with win over Penn State

The No. 8 Maryland Field Hockey team continued to dominate their Big Ten rivals with a 1-0 win over Penn State Friday afternoon in State College, Pa.

With Friday’s win the Terps (10-3, 4-0 Big Ten) win streak extended to nine in a row and they remain undefeated in the Big Ten.

Senior forward Alyssa Parker scored the winning goal for the Terps in the first half, her second goal on the season. Sophomore midfielder Lein Holsboer had the assist.

Maryland challenged Penn State’s goalie early on, taking five shots on goal back-to-back in the first eight minutes of the game. The Terps took 15 shots total in the game.

Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Holliday shut out the Nittany Lions, earning three saves in goal.

The Terps will face off against Old Dominion on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Norfolk, Va.
