Two days after a first place tie, the Maryland Women’s Gymnastics team ended up on top again, this time solo, with a score of 195.350 in Sunday’s quad-meet against West Virginia, Rutgers and New Hampshire in Morgantown, W.V.

On the uneven bars, senior Karen Tang placed first overall with a score of 9.925 that tied an all-time school record. Freshman Abbie Epperson had been struggling on her bars routine for the past few meets, but nailed it on Sunday, scoring a 9.800 and coming in fourth place overall.

Epperson also scored a 9.800 on vault, as well as senior Shannon Skochko. On the balance beam, senior Stephanie Giameo and freshman Dominiquea Trotter earned a 9.800.

The GymTerps’ biggest improvements came on the floor. After Friday’s meet, in which four girls made mistakes, the team posted a 48.775 on floor. Karen Tang continued her great night with a 9.800 on floor and sophomore Leah Slobodin matched that score.

The GymTerps will travel to Denton, Tx. next weekend to take on Brown, Utah St., and Texas Women’s University Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
