Maryland Field Hockey Season Ends at the Hands of Princeton

By Gill Vesely

The No. 5 Maryland Terrapins field hockey team was upset by No. 16 Princeton 3-1 Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

A late-game goal from Julie Duncan was not enough for Maryland to overcome the three-goal hole they found themselves in as the game drew to a close. Princeton goalie Anya Gersoff picked up six saves in the contest.

The loss comes as a stark contrast to the Terps’ 5-1 win over Michigan last Sunday to win the Big Ten Tournament title. Maryland finished with an overall record of 19-4.
