PODCAST: Terps soccer heads to Michigan for season finale

The Terps are No. 1 in the nation for the ninth week in a row, but undefeated doesn’t necessarily mean perfect.

The Maryland men’s soccer team is hungry for a national championship with a high-scoring offense led by transfer Gordon Wild, but the Terps have lost some of their defensive connectivity in the process. With one game left before the postseason, Maryland players called for a team meeting to discuss what needs to change for a successful postseason run. The consensus? Defense is key.

Coach Sasho Cirovski and sophomore midfielder Amar Sejdic talked about this need in this week’s WMUC Sports update.

As an exclusive bonus, Maryland’s charismatic commanding goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier sat down with Emily Olsen to talk about Cirovski’s coaching style and the mentality of Maryland soccer.

The Terps travel to Ann Arbor Sunday for a 1 p.m. match against Michigan in the regular season finale.
