Statement from station directors Liam Beatus and Megan Smedley:
When we became station directors one year ago, our goal was simple: to expand our coverage across the board and push WMUC Sports to new levels.
This past year, with your help, we have been able to expand our away coverage to include women’s basketball, men’s soccer, field hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse.
We are so lucky to have such generous fans and alumni from our station and we hope to keep the rich tradition of broadcasting Maryland sporting events alive. We hope you can continue to help us give young broadcasters opportunities they can’t get anywhere else. Thank you.
About the WMUC Sports 24-hour live marathon
Starting at noon on March 2, WMUC Sports will host 24 consecutive hours of live Maryland Terrapins game broadcasts from two (maybe three!) different cities and student-hosted talk shows around College Park. Liam Beatus, Megan Smedley and Max Marcilla will bring you coverage from the Men’s Basketball Big Ten Tournament in New York City. Connor Newcomb and Joe Malfa will bring you coverage from the Women’s Basketball Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
The 2018 marathon will be the second consecutive year WMUC Sports has held the event.
