The Maryland Terrapins Women’s Lacrosse team defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes 18-9 on senior day in College Park to advance to 15-0 on the season.

Before the Terps took the field on Saturday afternoon, seniors Morgan Torggler, Deb Milani, Nadine Hadnagy, Zoe Stukenberg, Caroline Wannen, Lindsay Biondi, Bairre Reilly, Emily Kift and Theo Kwas were honored for their four years of excellence and contribution to the team.

Those seniors then stepped onto the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex to play for the last time as a Terp, and dominated.

Stukenberg and Wannen each score two goals a piece and Reilly scored one in their last hurrah in College Park, pacing a Maryland offense that scored 18 goals for the second straight game. Junior Megan Whittle and freshman Kali Hartshorn led the Terps in scoring with four goals each while freshman Brindi Griffin, sophomores Jen Giles and Caroline Steele and juniors Taylor Hensh and Kacie Longo all added a score of their own. Maryland has now scored 18 goals or more in seven of its 15 contests.

Defensively, the Terps were terrific once again, holding Ohio State to single digit goals. Both sophomore Megan Taylor and senior Emily Kift played goalie today, combining to make 10 saves and finish with a save percentage of .526.

The Buckeyes fell to 6-10 on the season and 0-5 in Big Ten play following the loss. Their offense was led by freshman Sage Darling who finished with a hat trick and sophomore Mackenzie Maring who scored twice.

Maryland will be back in action Thursday when they take on Penn State in State College, Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. The Terps will return home to College Park in May when they host the Big Ten Tournament.
