COLLEGE PARK, Md. — It’s that time of year again! See the instructions below for how to apply to WMUC Sports for the 2019-20 sports season. We plan on having full broadcast and writing crews in the fall for football, men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball.
For every application:

You are more than welcome to apply for more than one position. If you wish to apply for multiple positions, please include all required materials in one email.
To apply to the broadcast crew:
Please send your resume, a short cover letter (that can be written right into the email) indicating your experience with WMUC Sports and preferences for fall sports (football, men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball).
Please also include at least one audio clip of your previous broadcasting experience either with WMUC Sports or somewhere else if you have such experience.
To apply to the news crew:
Please send your resume, a cover letter indicating your writing experience and what you will bring to news crew. Also include preferences for fall sports (football, men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball), and at least two clips to wmucsports@gmail.com.
Working collaboratively with broadcasters, our news crew will be responsible for attending games and postgame media opportunities, attending midweek media availabilities and writing feature stories. To create content that stands out amongst the other publications on campus and in the area, our writers will be encouraged to find unique storylines, conduct film reviews of key plays and write about how the game or match was decided — not simply play-by-play in the game recap.
Other opportunities that news crew members are encouraged to take part in include recording podcasts and supplementing WMUC Sports’ radio broadcasts with analysis during halftimes or intermissions.
To apply to the graphics crew:
Please send your resume, and examples of your work in graphic design (if applicable) to wmucsports@gmail.com. Graphic designers will be responsible for creating pre- and post-game graphics for Maryland sporting events to be published on social media.
To apply for a talk show:
If you are interested in a talk show, please send your resume and a cover letter with a brief description of your show’s premise, who the hosts will be, and a one-hour time slot that is currently open (see the schedule here).
