Maryland softball (6-6) faces off against Ohio State (6-6) in a four-game series in Columbus, Ohio. On Friday, the teams will play one game at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. The series concludes Sunday with first pitch at 1 p.m.
Look out for Terps senior pitcher Jennifer Brann who picked up a win against Iowa last week. She recorded three strikeouts in a complete game.
Offensively, keep a close eye on junior infielder Regan Kerr who hit her first home run of the season last week against Iowa. Freshman infielder Michaela Jones also was on fire last week hitting a triple and a RBI against the Hawkeyes in game two.
The Buckeyes are looking to improve their record, coming off a losing series against a tough Northwestern team. Against Northwestern, freshman pitcher Allison Smith picked up a complete game victory against Northwestern with seven strikeouts, only allowing two runs. Sophomore second baseman/outfielder Tegan Cortelletti is a dangerous bat in the Buckeyes lineup leading the team with .415 batting average.
