On Tuesday, the Terps alongside head coach Mark Montgomery posted their schedule for this upcoming spring 2021 softball season.
The UMD softball team will start off swinging in Leesburg, Florida for about half of the season. They’ll be facing off against No. 20 Minnesota on Feb. 26-27 for a doubleheader. Then Maryland will play another doubleheader Feb. 27 against Illinois.
The Terps then will play Wisconsin Feb. 28 and then play against Purdue March 11-12. Finishing off their Florida getaway, Maryland will go up against Iowa March 13-14.
Next up, Maryland will face Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio. After this trip, the UMD softball will have their first home series April 2-4 against Northwestern and Michigan State April 9-11. The Terps will then hit the road again facing off against No. 18 Michigan April 16-18. The following weekend, Maryland hosts Penn State April 23-25.
For its last road trip of the season, Maryland will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to play Nebraska from April 30 to May 2 and then the Terps travel to compete against Rutgers May 7-9. Finishing off the regular season, Maryland will take on Indiana, May 14-16 in College Park.
No fans will be allowed to attend the games in-person according to Maryland Athletics. Fans can purchase Terrapin Cutouts, which will be placed at the softball games, through Maryland Athletics.
