After its non-conference schedule was released last week, No. 12 Maryland women’s basketball announced the conference schedule on Monday. At the conclusion of their six non-conference games, the Terps will begin a 20-game conference schedule starting with a road matchup against Rutgers on Dec. 14.
Following that game, Maryland will host its first conference matchup of the season against No. 20 Ohio State on Dec. 23. Next, on New Year’s Eve, the Terps will travel to State College to take on Penn State. To begin 2021, Maryland has a tough stretch with four games in ten days. The Terps begin that period by hosting No. 16 Indiana on Jan. 4. After that, Maryland faces off against Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota.
To close out January, the Terps once again have little rest with four games in 11 days. Starting that stretch, Maryland takes on Wisconsin and Iowa for the first time this season, before having rematches with both Rutgers and Ohio State. Following that action packed stretch, the Terps have a brief reprieve with four of their next six games at home, hosting Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois and Minnesota.
Maryland’s two road matchups during that time are against No. 25 Michigan and Nebraska. Concluding the regular season schedule, the Terps travel to take on Purdue on Feb. 25 and No. 17 Northwestern on Feb. 28, before returning home for the regular season finale against Penn State on March 5th or 6th.
The Terps face each of the other four Big Ten schools ranked in the preseason Top 25 AP Poll. However, of those four ranked teams, Maryland faces only Ohio State twice . The 2020-21 season gets underway for the Terps on Friday against Davidson in Estero, Florida, with tipoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
