The Maryland Volleyball team traveled to Happy Valley this past Saturday to square off against head coach Steve Aird’s former team. Unfortunately it was not a happy homecoming as the Terps dropped three straight sets to Penn State 11-25, 18-25, and 15-25.
Ashleigh Crutcher was the main target for setters Carlotta Oggioni and Whitney Craigo. Crutchter led the match with 16 kills.
Libero Amy Dion contributed 10 digs while Hailey Murray assisted in four blocks.
Overall Maryland hit four percent as opposed to reigning NCAA champ Penn State’s 47 percent. With this loss, Maryland drops to 2-12 in the Big Ten and 9-16 overall.
The Terps continue their road trip and play at Purdue on Wednesday night and at Nebraska on Sunday.
