The women’s basketball team escaped the snow Monday night as they traveled to East Lansing, Mich to square off against Michigan State. With the 75-69 victory, Maryland continues their 17-game win streak.
It was a successful night for Maryland offense as five players scoring double-digit points. Brionna Jones led the team with 17 points.
Laurin Mincy and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough each added 15. Lexie Brown shot for 14 and Tierney Pfirman contributed 11.
Free throws helped the team remain in control throughout the game. Jones also led the team with 11 rebounds adding another double-double to her season.
Maryland improves to 23-2 overall and 14-0 in the Big Ten. With this win, Maryland clinches a top four spot in the Big 10 Tournament played at the beginning of the March. Maryland remains on the road this week and will face off against Wisconsin (8-16, 4-10) Thursday night.
