In what was their fourth consecutive match against a nationally ranked opponent, the Terps fell to Purdue in three straight sets (15-25, 18-25, 17-25) on Wednesday night.
The Terrapins (9-17, 2-13 Big Ten) were led by outside hitter Ashleigh Crutcher, who tallied up twelve kills. Also fueling the Terps were setters Whitney Craigo and Carlotta Oggioni, who had twelve and eleven assists respectively.
On the other side, the Boilermakers (20-7, 10-5) cruised behind eight kills from Annie Drews, who currently leads the conference in kills. Purdue’s high-powered offense was on display the entire match, resulting in a team hitting percentage of .372.
The tough stretch continues for Maryland, as they now must travel to Lincoln to take on the No. 11 Nebraska Cornhuskers. The game will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16th at 3p.m. and can be seen on BTN Plus.
