The Terps notched their first tie game of the season as they dueled Indiana to a draw 1-1. Maryland’s only goal came from sophomore forward Alex Anthony who netted her ninth goal of the season in the Terps tying effort.
The Maryland offense started early with them getting off a shot on net within two minutes of the match and a free kick from about 30 yards out within 15 minutes. However despite all this pressure, from the Maryland offense, the Terps gave up a goal to Indiana in the 26th minute. But Anthony responded at the 44th minute with would what be the teams only goal of the match.
All in all, it was a very close game as the Maryland offense continued to attack in the second half, but this time the Indiana defense refused to break again.
The Hoosiers defense also played very rough as they registered 26 fouls in the game.
The Terps final push for a goal in the match came when Alex Anthony again had a shot on net that was blocked in the 96th minute of the match.
The tie moved the Terps to (5-9-1) on the season who look to make it eight wins after there upcoming three game home stand.
