Maryland football redshirt freshman defensive lineman Daniel “DD” Lee Holmes was arrested early Wednesday morning and received charges including driving under the influence, according to reports from @TheDMVLive on X.
Holmes, a transfer from Florida State, reportedly crashed a green Dodge Charger into a concrete wall outside the parking lot of Looney’s Pub in College Park.
Court records show that the violation occurred at 2:32 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Holmes was processed by the University of Maryland Police Department and was eventually released, according to reports.
Holmes had no reported injuries in the incident.
Holmes has played in all four games this season for the Terps, totaling three tackles. Holmes is in his first season at Maryland. He attended high school at Gonzaga College in Washington, D.C.
Maryland football is currently in its bye week.
“We are aware of an incident involving Daniel Holmes and are handling it internally,” a Maryland Athletics spokesperson said in a statement to WMUC Sports, among other media outlets.
