The Terps didn’t leave Pennsylvania empty handed, both Justin Alexander, Shyheim Brown, and Lou Mascola nabbed wins for the team, but they ultimately fell to No. 11 Pittsburg 26-9.
Native born Alexander at 133 pounds won in a takedown with 52 seconds to go in the third period to defeat Nick Zanetta 3-1. Up next would be Shyheim Brown at 141 pounds who also would go on to secure his victory in the third with a beautiful reversal over Travis Shaffer for a 5-2 victory.
In a neck in neck match at 157 pounds, Lou Mascola put the Terps on top at the half with 5-2 decision over Ronnie Garbinsky.
The remainder of the matches would go in Pittsburgh’s favor but not without a great fight by the Terrapins.
The team will take on Penn State in their first home Big Ten match on December 11 at 6:00 p.m.
