Maryland men’s basketball received the commitment of five-star forward Baba Oladotun on Wednesday.
Oladotun is a 6-foot-10 forward out of James Hubert Blake High School and is the No. 10 recruit in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He was also ranked No. 8 on ESPN’s 2026 Top 100 recruits.
The Silver Spring native chose Maryland over Georgetown, Arkansas and Kentucky. He revealed his commitment to the Terps on YouTube Wednesday night at Blake High School.
“Ultimately, it came down to two schools. Maryland, Georgetown,” Oladotun said in his announcement. “With that said, I’ll be committing to the University of Maryland.”
Oladotum is head coach Buzz Williams’ fourth commitment in the 2026 class, alongside Kaden House, Adama Tambedou and Austin Brown. Maryland’s 2026 class consists of a five-star, two four-stars and a three-star, according to 247Sports.
Oladotun reclassified to the 2026 class on Aug. 7 after previously being ranked No. 1 in the 2027 recruiting class. Oladotun is currently 16 years old and will turn 17 in December.
He is Maryland’s second-highest rated commit in 247Sports’ recruiting database, only behind class of 2015 five-star Diamond Stone.
According to MaxPreps, Oladotun averaged 22.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists for Blake last season. The Bengals went 23-2 last season, but lost to Sherwood in the playoffs.
Oladotun is the top-rated recruit out of Maryland and decided to stay local to join the Terps.
